Last week we held our first annual donor appreciation event followed by a fundraiser for our new Interlude program – more about that in a minute. In just three years, we’ve gained a wonderful circle of donors around us. We invited them to join us at the new Event Space at Reconsidered Goods (which by the way is fabulous!) so we could express our gratitude in person. It was truly overwhelming to look around the room and see the incredible support that is sustaining us and moving us forward.
Our growing circle of donors, including monthly sponsors, gives us a huge boost of energy and enables us to expand our offerings. All of us involved in the work with Inner Ground are deeply grateful.
We are thrilled to announce the launching of our new Interlude program in April 2020! This is an opportunity for individuals working in the fields of ministry, social justice, and care-giving to hit the pause button and enjoy an extended sabbath. This three day experience will be held at St. Francis Springs Prayer Center in Stoneville, NC. Lodging in one of the private hermitages provides a peaceful setting for this time of rest and renewal. Interlude begins with a ritual of blessing over the individual’s life and work and continues with guided structure that invites participants to rekindle their passion for their calling, to reclaim themselves as beloved beings, and to explore contemplative practices that nourish their spiritual journey. In partnership with other soul-care practitioners, we will curate a space where participants are invited to discern a rhythm of life that deeply nourishes their inner life which in turn will flow into the sharing of their gifts (work). To extend and deepen this time of sabbath, participants will be given the option to choose a contemplative practice introduced during Interlude to practice in partnership with a local facilitator for one month.
We are now receiving applications for our April 27-29 Interlude experience. Our selection committee will select one individual for this extended sabbath. Individuals may apply directly or you may nominate someone for consideration. You will find the links here for the application form and the nomination form. We invite you to nominate someone for Interlude, to apply for it yourself (if applicable) and to share the information with others.
We invite you to join us this Sunday, Feb. 9 at 3:00 for our quarterly drum circle! A time devoted to the ancient practice of rhythm and its ability to renew and heal us. No experience is needed and drums are provided – though you are encouraged to bring your own if you have one. We meet in Forest Chapel at College Park Baptist Church – 1601 Walker Ave., Greensboro. Suggested donation: $5.
Our annual Mothering Retreat is happening later this month – Feb. 21-23. We have a wonderful weekend planned and are delighted to have Rev. Rebecca Husband Maynard as our retreat leader this year. The private rooms are full, but we do have one shared room still available – space for 2 women. You’ll find all the details here if you are interested in learning more. We’d love to have you join us!
