Interlude is an opportunity for individuals working in the fields of ministry, social justice, and care-giving to hit the pause button and enjoy an extended sabbath. This four-day experience is held at St. Francis Springs Prayer Center in Stoneville, NC. Lodging in one of the private hermitages provides a peaceful setting for this time of rest and renewal.
Interlude begins with a ritual of blessing over the individual’s life and work. The retreat continues with guided structure that invites the participant to rekindle their passion for their calling, to explore contemplative practices that nourish their spiritual journey, and to rest in their identity as beloved. In partnership with other soul-care practitioners, we will curate a space where the participant is invited to discern a rhythm of life that deeply nourishes their inner life and sustains the sharing of their gifts (work/service) in the world. The participant will choose one of the following contemplative practices to engage in during their time at St. Francis: breath work, walking meditation, gentle yoga, centering prayer, welcoming prayer, or expressive arts. And finally, each participant will have the opportunity to meet with a Spiritual Director to explore more deeply their own spiritual journey.
Through the generosity of our donors, we are able to offer Interlude at a minimal cost to the participant. The recipient of this extended sabbath will provide their own transportation to and from St. Francis Springs Prayer Center and pay $100 towards the cost of the retreat. All other expenses are covered by Inner Ground.
Individuals are encouraged to apply for this retreat or to encourage someone they know to apply. If you have questions about Interlude, please contact us at 2innerground@gmail.com
