Welcoming 2020 with Gratitude and Excitement

Thank you for helping us raise over $900!

On the eve of Giving Tuesday, we hosted a fundraiser at Ten Thousand Villages. It was a cold night, but so many of you bundled up and joined us for an evening of holiday shopping. We loved supporting our friends at Ten Thousand Villages and were grateful to share in the sales for the evening. It was our first fundraiser event with them and we were thrilled with the turnout. The energy from the evening gave us a huge boost going into Giving Tuesday the next day.

Donations started coming in by 8:00 Tuesday morning and kept coming long past my bedtime. We were thrilled with the total donated to Inner Ground from the fundraiser and Giving Tuesday. We had several first time donors and gained one monthly donor for 2020.

As we prepare to ring in 2020, we’re thrilled to announce that we will have a regular rhythm of monthly offerings – Soul-Full Saturday, Healing Rhythms and ARTSpressions. First up is Soul-Full Saturday: Sabbath, on January 11, 2020, from 1:00-3:30. Together we’ll explore the sacred relationship between doing and being and what the scripture texts have to teach us about a rhythm of rest and delight. Our afternoon includes restorative yoga, creating prayer beads and engaging in a variety of contemplative practices. Our facilitators are Lynn Dyer, Lesley-Ann Hix Tommey (my lovely daughter), and me. Registration is $40. Follow this link to sign up. We have space for 12 people and would love for you to join us.

A couple more events for your 2020 calendar: On February 9 at 3:00, we’ll gather for Healing Rhythms at College Park Baptist Church. Our annual Mothering Retreat is Feb. 21-23. We still have a few spots remaining. If you’re interested in learning more about the retreat, you can find out all the details at this link. Then in March, we’ll host ARTSpressions with a focus on dreams – how God speaks to us through our dreams, and how they can offer guidance and insight on our spiritual journey. One of our board members, Laura Maruzzella, will guide us in making a dream catcher. Mark your calendar for Monday, March 23. More details and registration coming soon.

There’s lots of great energy stirring as we welcome in 2020. I hope you’ll find something that speaks to you and come and join our gathered community this year. All of us at Inner Ground are grateful to be on the journey with you. Happy New Year!
