We are hosting several events this summer and I hope you’ll take a moment to check them out. Our mission at Inner Ground is to nourish the human heart and spirit through contemplative practices and expressive arts. The offerings below are ways that we try to live into that mission with a variety of opportunities.
ARTSpressions: finger labyrinth
Monday, July 22 at 6:30 pm
We’ve had a lot of requests to offer this event again, so here it is. Chapel Hill potter, Robin Frelier, will lead our time of making our own pottery finger labyrinth. You’ll also learn ways to incorporate the labyrinth into your spiritual practices. Come and play in some clay with us! Full details and registration found here.
Saturday, August 3
11:00am – 1:30pm
This is a new offering – an opportunity to spend a couple of hours learning about and engaging in spiritual practices. The theme for this first Soul-Full Saturday is Presence. We’ll explore this through a variety of embodied practices, including chair yoga, centering prayer, and Visio Divina (holy gazing). You’ll need a camera for the Visio Divina activity. The camera on your phone is perfect. We’ll have some light refreshments for you to enjoy.
The facilitators are Allison Spooner, yoga instructor and Monica Citty Hix, spiritual companion and minister.
We invite you to this communal space to listen, learn, practice, reflect, and nourish your spirit. If you are seeking ways to go deeper in your spiritual journey, we hope you’ll join us for our first Soul-Full Saturday. Full details and registration found here.
Sunday, August 11 at 3pm
College Park Baptist Church, Forest Chapel
This is our quarterly drum circle. No experience is needed and drums are provided – though you are encouraged to bring your own if you have one. This is a time devoted to the ancient practice of rhythm and it’s ability to renew and heal us. Life is heavy for so many folks these days – this is a great opportunity to care for yourself. And, it’s a lot of fun! No registration required. We suggest a donation of $5 or more.
I hope you’ll find something in this list of offerings that speaks to you. Come and join us! We’d love to companion you as we seek ways to nourish ourselves on the spiritual journey.
