Healing Rhythms is an offering that combines contemplation and expressive arts. Through the ancient practice of drumming, participants are invited to welcome and be present to the grief they are carrying. Research indicates that drumming accelerates physical healing, boosts the immune system and produces a feeling of well-being. Our desire is for this circle to be a healing space; one that practices both welcoming and releasing.
We have settled into a quarterly offering of Healing Rhythms. We’ll gather this Sunday, September 17 at 3 pm for our next session. Inner Ground is grateful for the generous hospitality of space offered by the loving community at College Park Baptist Church. We meet in their newly remodeled Forest Chapel – 1601 Walker Avenue, Greensboro, NC. The circle is open to all and free (we do appreciate donations). You may bring your own drum or use one of the many that we provide.
Give your weakness to one who helps. Crying out loud and weeping are great resources. A nursing mother all she does is wait to hear her child. Just a little beginning-whimper, and she’s there. God created the child, that is, your wanting so that it might cry out, so that milk may come. Cry out! Don’t be stolid and silent with your pain. Lament! And let the milk of loving flow into you. Rumi
